We are excited to share with you the recent announcement made by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The second and final phase of the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Corridor Improvement Project has been completed, bringing significant improvements to Dubai's infrastructure.

Spanning 8 km along Ras Al Khor Road, from Dubai-Al Ain Road to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, this project aims to enhance traffic safety, improve flow, and support the sustainable expansion of the emirate. The completion of this project demonstrates RTA's ongoing dedication to improving Dubai's transportation network.

The first phase of the project focused on widening Ras Al Khor Road from three to four lanes in each direction, along with the construction of two-lane service roads on both sides. These enhancements have increased the road's capacity to accommodate up to 10,000 vehicles per hour, significantly reducing travel time from 20 minutes to just about 7 minutes.

Among the notable features of the initial phase are two main bridges. The first is a 740-meter, three-lane bridge catering to traffic from Dubai-Al Ain Road and Al Khail Road, heading eastward to Dubai Creek Harbour. With an impressive capacity of about 7,500 vehicles per hour, this bridge ensures a smooth flow of traffic. The second bridge, a two-lane structure spanning 990 meters, serves traffic from Dubai Creek Harbour to Ras Al Khor – Hatta Road, accommodating approximately 3,100 vehicles per hour.

The second and final phase of the project includes further enhancements to the Nadd Al Hamar Road and Ras Al Khor Road intersection. A two-lane bridge, stretching 988 meters, has been constructed to facilitate a free left turn for traffic coming from Nadd Al Hamar Road towards Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road. Additionally, a 115-meter two-lane bridge has been added to assist traffic from Nadd Al Hamar Road towards Dubai-Al Ain Road, along with a 368-meter two-lane underpass allowing a right-turn for traffic inbound from Ras Al Khor Road heading to Nadd Al Hamar. These improvements, along with the widened existing turns, have optimized traffic flow in the area.

The completion of the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Corridor Improvement Project is a testament to the RTA's commitment to enhancing Dubai's transportation infrastructure. This project serves key developments such as The Lagoons, Dubai Creek, Meydan Horizon, Ras Al Khor, Al Wasl, and Nadd Al Hamar Complex, benefitting approximately 650,000 residents.
